- The Wako Endotoxin Extracting Solution permits effective extraction of endotoxin in medical devices which had not been detected by the water extraction method.
- Using the Wako Endotoxin Extracting solution, beta-glucan can also be extracted effectively.
- For the detection of endotoxin in medical devices, test samples are usually collected by the water extraction method, i.e. medical devices are rinsed with water or saline solution and the samples are measured to determine the amount of contamination.
- However, endotoxin in medical devices is not sufficiently extracted by the water extraction method.
- Wako's research group has studied various methods and developed an extracting solution that effectively extracts endotoxin.
