Total Yeast and Mold Count (TYMC)
Description
The Total Yeast and Mold Count (TYMC) test is performed to determine the total number of viable fungi, including yeasts and molds, present in pharmaceutical products, raw materials, cosmetics, nutraceuticals, and other regulated samples. This testing ensures that fungal contamination remains within pharmacopeial specifications, thereby safeguarding product quality, integrity, and consumer health. The TYMC test is conducted in accordance with USP <61>, EP 2.6.12 and IP 2.2.9 guidelines, with acceptance criteria defined in USP <1111> to ensure regulatory compliance and consistent microbiological quality standards.
