Antibiotic–microbial Assays (Usp , Ip 2.2.10, Ep 2.7.2)

The potency and efficacy of antibiotics must be confirmed using biological assays. As per USP <81> and IP 2.6.1, assays are performed using agar diffusion (cylinder-plate method) and turbidimetric methods. These confirm that active pharmaceutical ingredients maintain therapeutic potency and dosage accuracy, supporting regulatory submissions and ensuring effective treatment outcomes.
